Tandus Flooring introduced Powerbond®, an award-winning hybrid resilient sheet flooring that combines the beauty and comfort of a nylon wear layer with the durability and design ease of a closed-cell cushion. The hybrid resilient product has been making headlines for more than four decades for its proven fiscal responsibility, support of a healthier indoor environment, creating an innovative design medium and as an environmentally responsible product.

The company's innovation broke new ground with the introduction of the Infinity Initiative. This Initiative led to the industry's first closed-loop recycling program in 1994. Since then, Tandus Flooring has recycled more than 200 million pounds of flooring, including that of competitors, and waste back into the manufacturing stream. This recycling process led to the development of ER3® backing and cushion. ER3 is a 100% recycled content backing that is the standard on our modular carpet and is a 98% recycled content cushion for our Powerbond products.

Through leading-edge technology, Tandus Flooring introduced ethos™, a high-performance polymer. ethos™ products are made from recycled non-chlorinated polymer (commonly found in the abundantly available waste from windshields and safety glass) and like all Tandus Flooring products, is 100% recyclable.

ethos Cushion for Powerbond contains 76% recycled content, 36-61% overall with 36% post consumer content. ethos modular contains 26-50% overall recycled content with 12% post consumer content. ethos Cushion, ethos modular, ER3 Cushion and ER3 modular are all NSF-140 certified Platinum.
