The series is PVC-free, and both Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver and GREENGUARD® certified, and is both reclaimable and fully recyclable. The entire collection is sustainably produced, flame-retardant, washable, anti-fungal, and highly durable—qualities that make it well suited for commercial applications such as hospitality and health-care facilities, as well as residential installations. The winner of multiple awards including Best of NeoCon® in both the Healthcare Textiles and Window Treatments categories, EcoVeil is available in several different styles, patterns, and densities including a 2 x 2 basketweave in a 3% and 5% openness, a 1 x 1 dense weave in 1% openness, and a dense jacquard weave in 1–2% openness.  

EcoVeil shadecloths can be added to any of MechoSystems’ manual, motorized, or automated shade systems, including the Mecho®/5 manual shade, which is recognized as a Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver product—the first solar-shading system to earn this certification. And this certification can help a project qualify for a LEED® Innovation in Design credit, bringing it one step closer to LEED certification.  

The latest in a line of innovative textiles developed by MechoSystems, EcoVeil shadecloths are comprised of an extruded fiber whose thermoplastic olefin (TPO) jacket covers a polyolefin core, a combination which has a soft hand and natural appearance. As part of earning its Cradle to Cradle certification, all of the materials used in the production were evaluated for health and safety. The shade material can also be recycled into other TPO-based products. EcoVeil shadecloths are also visually transparent, preserving outdoor views that studies show are vital for employee health and productivity. By lowering solar-heat gain while allowing daylight inside, this system also helps buildings be more environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
