Brick and Concrete Roof Tile

With a history dating back to the Roman Empire, concrete is a proven, viable, lasting building product. Due to its 100-year-plus life span, concrete is one of the most energy efficient and eco-friendly building products. This means that all of Hanson's concrete and brick products essentially have no life cycle end - not only do they last up to three times longer than other products when serving their original purpose, but they can also be recycled and re-purposed indefinitely. Thus, replacement products using depleting resources are needed far less frequently. There's practically no waste, and contribution to landfills is dramatically reduced.

Hanson Roof Tiles: At Hanson, we are committed to providing energy efficient products to our customers. We're a member of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), and have 42 colors currently in its ratings program. Hanson's products were tested by a CRRC lab for solar reflectance and thermal emittance. Listed on the CRRC's web site (www.coolroofs.org), these colors are recognizable by the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® certification programs and California's Title 24 building standards.

Hanson Brick: Brick is a low maintenance, permanent, durable building product that won't rot, rust, burn, corrode, decay, encourage mold growth or need painting. This durability and long life cycle reduces the need for replacement, thereby eliminating further manufacturing energy required for replacement products. Hanson strives to conserve energy in the firing process, using less than 50% energy to produce brick in 2004 compared to 1981. Further fuel reduction efforts since 2004 have totaled 10.8%.
